Alumni Meet 2020

Alumni Meet 2020: On 29th February 2020, AROC organized the second edition of the flagship Alumni Meet to reconnect the Alumni with the college and strengthen their everlasting bond. The founding principal, Mr. S.S.Gulshan and the former principal of the college, Mr. R.M. Singh were invited as the chief guests of the event. Over 100 alumni (across batches) attended this meet and reconnected with old friends and acquaintances. The guest list included alumni ranging from the first batch of 1990 to the most recent graduates of 2019, networking and sharing anecdotes. As most of the guests were more familiar with the Jhilmil Campus, the new building was a certain thrill to them, especially the auditorium with 500-seater capacity. A special college tour was organised for the the alumnus with AROC volunteers to familiarise them with the new building. Even still, the charm of the old building could be felt in their conversations, from Mathela and Maggie point to the photogenic stairwell. The programme began with an address by Mrs. Poonam Verma ma’am. Introducing the guests of honour, she fondly remembered Mr. Gulshan as the youthful spirit whose doors were always open for new ideas from his students.

For Mr. Singh, she said, “his dedication to imbibe discipline as the most important quality for his pupils brought a legacy of dedicated and hardworking students who are leading and innovating all over the globe today”. The college, as a symbol of entrepreneurial zeal with an attitude of walking the extra mile, has its foundational roots in the two visionaries. The alumni brimmed with joy seeing their old pictures on the Wall of Memories. Nostalgia evoked as they recollected those cherished memories from their college life. They enthusiastically participated in the fun activities planned by the team for them like dart game, who is who board, etc. The smiles broadened as they got their sketches made by the caricature artist. Memories from the classrooms flooded back as the alumni met their teachers and shared anecdotes from their days back in college.

Together, they enjoyed the performances of Blitz- the dance society and Dhwani- the music society. The efforts of the team were appreciated as the participants shared their views in the Visitor’s Book. They expressed their joy on seeing the three principals together and hearing their views. It was a great pleasure and an honour for the team to host such a lovely crowd.
